Bandwidth/Data Transfer
Any outbound and inbound traffic from your web site is considered data transfer. FTP uploads and e-mail count as data transfer. Each time a html file, graphic file or any other element on your web page is loaded, data transfer is generated. Certain plans include unmetered bandwidth.

Disk Space
Disk space refers to the amount of server disk storage your account is allocated. This space is used to store your html files, graphics, audio/video files, e-mail, log files and all other files that make up your web site. Certain plans include unmetered web space.

Dedicated IP Address
Every web hosting account is given a dedicated IP address upon request. (By default, you will be assigned a shared, static IP address.) This allows you to access your web site via a web browser or development tool regardless of the status of your domain name and test the site and scripts to ensure they are 100% ready for the DNS transfer. This results in no downtime when transferring your web site from another hosting company. The Webmaster Plan by default is set to name-based hosting. This service allows you to host multiple web sites under one account. Each web site is a true, full-featured, hosted account. This is the best way to increase Search Engine rankings too as no files are shared or redirected like most host do it.

Multiple Domain Hosting (Redirection)
If you own multiple domain names and wish to use the extra space with your current account to host them, this service is a great way do so. We will forward another domain name owned by you to a sub-directory created by you within your current account. Subdomains (anything.yourdomain.com)
Subdomains act just like top level domain names. You will be able to have unlimited subdomains which will point to a directory in your main site. For example, http://support.yourdomain.com will point to http://www.yourdomain.com/support.yourdomain.com. However, the browser will still look like you are at the subdomain. These subdomains will share the disk space, ftp access, tenet access, web logs, cgi-bin and e-mail of the primary domain. E-mail service for the subdomain IS NOT included with this feature.

E-Mail Features

POP3/IMAP Accounts
All accounts come with POP/IMAP e-mail accounts. These accounts need a mail client such as Eudora, Outlook or Outlook Express to retrieve e-mail directly from mailboxes on the mail server.

E-Mail Aliases
An e-mail alias is an e-mail address that gives you the ability to receive any e-mail at anything@yourdomain.com. Aliases are added to POP e-mail accounts to offer unlimited addresses to one user.

E-Mail Forwarding
Forwarding allows you to route all e-mail coming to one address on your domain and send it to another address outside your domain. For example, you have info@yourdomain.com. You can have all e-mail forwarded to another account such as john234@aol.com. This is a good way for many users to consolidate their accounts and your visitors will never know it has been forwarded.

Autoresponders
Autoresponders may be used to send automated responses to incoming e-mail sent to a specific address. For example, someone e-mails sales@yourdomain.com, they will get an automatic reply from you with your prewritten response, like "Thanks for the e-mail..."

Vacation Responders
Vacation Responders are like an Autoresponders, however when added, they will send the same simple reply you desire to all your aliases under one account. This is a simple way to ensure all your addresses have the same responder.

Majordomo Mailing List
Majordomo is a powerful list service that allows you to e-mail multiple people simultaneously. There are many configurable features, including automatic subscribe and unsubscribe. When one user e-mails the Majordomo listserver, that e-mail is sent out to everyone on the list to read.

Catch-All E-Mail Address
A "Catch-All Address" is used to receive all e-mails not going to an assigned address on the server. These are great for receiving e-mails that someone might have misspelled. For example, sales@yourdomain.com will get to your address if it has a catch-all.

Personal SMTP (Outgoing) Mail Server
Many web hosts have you use your ISP's outgoing mail server or have you use their branded SMTP server. WebIntellects allows you to use your own smtp server. Your outgoing server will be mail.yourdomain.com.

Web Based E-Mail (POP and IMAP)
Lets you view, delete and manage all of your e-mail accounts while you are away from your personal computer. With our web mail program, you will be able to check your e-mail from anywhere in the world with any computer. POP web-based e-mail is used for those customers who wish to check e-mail on the road, but wish to manage the mail with a POP-based client like Outlook when they return home. For those who wish to do all e-mail management from the web, WebIntellects offers IMAP-based web mail, which includes folders for mail management.

Personal Spam Blocker
This powerful feature is a great way to reduce Spam from hitting your personal or business addresses. This is also useful when you just want to block unwanted users from e-mailing you. Unlike our user-level Spam Filter, the blocker will just reject all mail from addresses or domains you add to the deny list.

ORDB.org (Open Relay Database) and Spamcop Spam Filtering
WebIntellects uses two filters on all shared servers to help reduce the amount of Spam our users receive. WebIntellects has chosen ORDB.org, which is the Open Relay Database, and www.spamcop.net. ORDB.org is a non-profit organization which stores IP-addresses of verified open SMTP relays. These relays are, or are likely to be, used as conduits for sending unsolicited bulk email, also known as Spam. Spamcop will list any IPs that have been sending out reported Spam. If the Spam stops, the IP is released from the database after 48 hours. By using WebIntellects, you understand and approve of such filtering. You understand that any person attempting to e-mail you from a server in the Open Relay Database or Spamcop database will be returned to the sender. Many web host charge for MX record changes. WebIntellects does not. So, if you wish to set up your mail or community services with Everyone.net or BigMailBox.com, we will make the changes for you for free.

End-User Level E-Mail and Spam Filter Control Panel
Each user you add to your account will have their own management interface to manage mail and set their SpamAssassin Spam filter settings. Every account comes with an advanced control panel where you can add/edit your e-mail accounts, redirections and forwardings, set up and manage your mailing lists and autoresponders, manage domain username/passwords, download your raw logs, manage your site with File Manager (create, edit and upload files to your web space), view graphical stats, perform back and restores, and much more. This control panel has two levels: an admin level and a user level. The Webmaster Plan includes a third level for managing all your sites.

This is our proprietary web administration system which allows you to perform all aspects of your account management. Virtual File Systems
A virtual private file system is used to lock down shared server security and prevent customer data theft. In the past, other users could gain access to your files on a shared server using shell access or certain scripts. Since each site is locked down, your data and files will remain protected. All these utilities are included within the our UNIX shell. 'Pine' is a more advanced e-mail client within Telnet then standard 'Mail'. 'VI' and 'PICO' are text editors that let you create and edit files within Telnet. 'Emacs' is an extensible, customizable, self-documenting real-time display editor.Cron Tab executes set commands at user-defined times '.htaccess' lets you set up password protected directories within your web site.

Online File and Upload Manager
An online tool that can be used in place of FTP to manage and upload files and directories. You can also change read, write or execute permissions on any of the files or directory in your web site plus much more.

Online Backup/Restore Feature (2 Levels)
WebIntellects backs up all server data every night in the event of server trouble. However, we highly recommend that all users back up their own configurations as well. This provides you with the quickest and easiest way to restore any lost data. If you delete or change data, and need us to pull it from our backups, WebIntellects charges $25.00 per restore. To assist with backups and restores, we offer two levels of control. The admin user can perform a backup and restore of all site configurations, files and users uploaded. A user can back-up and restore their own files and e-mail.

Online Subdomain Manager
All accounts come with unlimited subdomains. To asist in their management, we offer an option in our control panels to add, edit and delete subdomains and choose which directories to point them to. All domains have wildcard entries by default, so subdomains will work soon after they are added.

Virus Scanning
Our virus protection is done by Clam AntiVirus. All virus scanning is done at the server level, meaning you will not have to install any software. We will take care of scanning all incoming mail for you. Right now Clam AntiVirus can detect over 20,000 viruses, worms and trojans. You will be notified of any e-mails found with viruses. While we now offer this feature free of charge, WebIntellects still encourages you to run your own virus protection on your PC to provide an additional layer of protection.

Online Password Protected Directories Manager
Allows you to protect your webpages with groups of password and user ID combinations. When someone tries to access a certain page, they will be prompted for a username and password you selected. If they authenticate, they can view your pages within that directory. While most web hosts require you to know Telnet and .htaccess, with WebIntellects, it is as easy as a few clicks.

Microsoft FrontPage Extension Permission Management Interface

Additional Domain Name Pointers
Domain name pointers resolve to the root level of your virtual server just like your original domain name. These domain names cannot point to a subdirectory of your virtual server.
